Meet Big Phil
The first time Big Phil ever saw the White River was as a child in the late 1960's
when his grandfather brought him here for a one week fishing trip. Phil says, "I was
hooked (no pun intended) and have been coming here ever since". Phil and his wife,
Benicia, relocated to Bull Shoals in 2004 with their family and purchased The Mar Mar Resort & Tackle Shop. Phil
learned all the aspects of the river and how to give his customers a day of fishing and
fun that they will remember.
Our Guides
The White River below Bull Shoals Dam is one of the best known trout fisheries in
the world. Our fishing guides have the knowledge of the White River's, flow conditions,
generation patterns, current fish eating patterns, hatch patterns, stocking patterns, as
well as moon phases that are all helpful. These are all critical issues on having one of
the best fishing experiences possible. The education you will receive about fishing in the Ozarks
will be well worth the investment. We have available some of the best guides in the area.
Bull Shoals Lake has more than 45,000 acres of water and 1000 miles of shoreline
and is a popular destination for anglers and outdoors enthusiast.The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, Kentucky bass, walleye, bluegill, crappie
and catfish. Phil & Benicia can set you up with a fishing trip on the lake with Bull
Shoals Lake Marina, that have guides with several years of experience. Their guides will
show you how clear water requires using lighter lines and smaller lure sizes than other regions of
America and just how much fun it can be catch one of these hard fighting fish!

written notice of cancellation with a $25.00 service fee deducted before refunding the

| Guided trip includes bait, rods, reels, soft
drinks, and tackle. All day trips include a sack lunch, prepared by Phil's wife, Benicia.
A shore lunch, which is fresh fried trout that you have caught that morning, french fries,
hush puppies, cole slaw, and/or potato salad can be added for $25.00 per person and it's
all UM UM good! |

| Big Phil's White River Guide Service offers both
spin and fly fishing trips. Spinning rods and closed face combos are provided, as well as
the tackle and bait. If you would like to fly fish bring your own fly rod and flies and
fish from either the boat or wade fish from a shoal. Otherwise all you need to bring is
your fishing license, trout stamp and the willingness to have fun and catch fish. |

White River Catch &
Release
The catch and release of good spawning fish is an important issue for the
protection of the White River fishery. Trophy mounts can be made of the actual fish you
caught and a replica mount looks just as good as the real thing. When you release a trophy
trout you are adding to the spawning population and giving longevity to the White River
fishery. There are laws, regulations, and limits enforced by Arkansas Fish and Game. All
of these laws are followed by Phil's Guide Service.
